Submitting Data
The Alps Data Collection Software (ADCS) has been developed to make submitting data to us for the Alps reports an easy administrative task.
There are particular sets of data that are needed to process the reports for each year group, for example student ID, student names, subjects taken, grades achieved and average GCSE scores (or QCA scores).
Any school or college that would like an Alps A level, AS level or BTEC report will need to submit their data using this software.
The ADCS will produce an apf file (a file with the name in the format 'yourfile.apf') which you will need to save. You can submit your data to us by sending this file to data@alps-va.co.uk. If you have a large data file, it may be better to send it via our online file upload service. You can do this by clicking on the following link: http://dropbox.yousendit.com/alps
Benefits of Alps Data Collection Software
- Data sent in August will be returned to you as an Alps report within 8 working days of receipt of your data. This will allow your senior staff to use the Alps report at the beginning of the school year, when it is most useful.
- The software allows you to print student information in a variety of different formats as soon as the data has been inputted. The printouts are useful for analysing student performance.
- The Alps software creates target grades for students, which can be used as part of a student guidance, monitoring and support programme.
